About Me

Asher is a freelance independent photographer from Edison NJ, currently working out of Morristown. He first began as a child following his father around while he took photos and family videos on a small JVC camcorder. This curiosity branched into taking early digital photos on digicams and eventually turned into taking film photos with his father and brother and going on small photography trips and adventures. Asher likes to capture the world largely on film still today and regularly develops and scans film. He loves film because of the nature in which it works and how it becomes a physical representation of the light shone at the time of exposure. It creates a physical memory along with the photo, a permanent change in the emulsion on the film, unique and beautiful. Asher enjoys working in the studio as well as in natural outside environments and finds most of the work he enjoys in very small details and empty desolate places.
